This course introduces our ECE and ME students to the fundamentals of circuit theory. Introductory topics include circuit analysis using Kirchoff’s current and voltage laws, nodal analysis, superposition, and equivalent circuit theorems. Furthermore, students will study the 1st and 2nd order transient analysis of circuits with energy storage elements. Advanced topics on phasors, AC power, and frequency response are also covered.
This course is taught as an integrated lab/lecture format, where students will perform lab during lecture periods in order to highlight the important topics of the lecture. Also, students construct a project based on a schematic of their choosing.
